Future growth:

  • My goal is to continuously improve by providing a CAS program that can be eventually led by other people. This will be done by asking for annual feedback from all shareholders: students, faculty-advisors, ASA-advisors, parents, administration, and staff experiences.

  • The CAS program should be dynamic and evolve with the ever-changing student body. I hope to continuously seek opportunities for improvement by staying updated on best practices- by participating in the CAS professional development course and participating in online CAS coordinator chat groups.

  • By creating a lesson plans/structure, I can provide a structured framework for organizing instructional content, activities, and resources. This framework will help teachers stay organized and ensure that all necessary components of CAS understanding are included, such as experiences and projects. This organization facilitates a smooth flow of planning and helps teachers and students to effectively manage their time in the program.

  • I believe by having a calendar for planned events can  I can promote consistency in instruction of the program, and facilitate the conversations about collaboration. Students can use the calendar to identify which other experiences they are interested in and create a project or set up experiences together.

  • The Head of School has asked for a list of organizations that are already familiar and in cooperation with the staff and students. We would like to share this information with the community and provide a more transparent way to donate money, items and volunteer time. I feel that this will be a large and ongoing effort for SIS.

  • I will continue to enhance the CAS program at the school by improving the structured and comprehensive system for tracking and documenting student engagement and learning outcomes in CAS activities. Currently this takes place in Managebac but I feel that it can be improved/streamlined.

  • I will aim to foster a culture of active student involvement by encouraging and supporting students to take ownership of their CAS experiences. This can be done by provide guidance and resources to help students set meaningful goals, reflect on their learning, and develop action plans that align with their interests and passions.

  • Most importantly I will collaborate with teachers (and the Service as Action coordinator) to integrate CAS into the overall curriculum and academic goals of the school. Explore opportunities for interdisciplinary projects and connections between CAS activities and classroom learning, fostering a more holistic and interconnected educational experience for students. With more knowledgeable staff students will be better assisted with CAS questions and experiences.
